As early as 1500 B.C. epigraphical evidence is in abundance and located in universities and museums globally which identify the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, both Jewish administrations. The Macedonian historian and chronicler of Alexander, Philitas documents Alexanders sacrifice at the Temple in Jerusalem and funding for the Septuagint translation of the Torah. During the Julio-Claudio era of Roman rule of Judiah, Suetonius and Flavius Josephus both write about the Jewish kingdom as administered by the two Herod's.
