The President was angry and would not release the man from Fort Lincoln until there was a face to face explanation on the "injury" caused by the declarations. The Colonial implored for the required meeting, but the punishment would require he wait. Political and personal motivations prevailed until it was all to late for Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer, his 268 soldiers, and the brave 36 warriors of Sitting Bull who would meet their destiny on June 26, 1876 at Greasy Grass Creek.
